Death Comes To Mrs. J.H. Bremhorst
Mrs. Ella Bremhorst, 66, wife of Herman J. Bremhorst died at the St. Joseph hospital at 9 p.m. Monday following an extended illness. Her residence is at 241 Schuyler street. The daughter of Caroline and Thomas Gibbs, she was born April 15, 1878, in Van Buren county. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Snook, El Monte, California; eight sons, Otto of Des Moines, Charles of Omaha, Bernard of Creston, George of Alliance, Nebraska, and John Paul, Henry Edward and Harry all of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Etta Ricker, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and three brothers, John H. Gibbs, Ottumwa, Charles A. Gibbs, Galesburg, Illinois, and Harry Moon, Ottumwa. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s church, when the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.M. Walsh V.F. will celebrate a solemn requiem high mass. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body will remain at the Lester Jay funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
