Mrs. Mary (Polly) Glenn, 74, widow of Alfred Glenn, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.L. Swanson, 106 East Manning avenue. Her home was on Ottumwa route 5. The daughter of William and Anna Neighbour, she was born in Wales, January 7, 1870. She and Mr. Glenn were married in Ottumwa, December 20, 1886. He died November 3, 1943. She also was preceded in death by a daughter Mrs. Alice Fairchild, and by two sons in infancy. Survivors are seven sons, two daughters, 20 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The former is William H. Glenn, Kirkville; Thomas, Alpha, Elmre, Clarence, Frank and Lawrence Glenn, all of Ottumwa route 5, Mrs. Mary Ann Middlesworth, Kirkville, and Mrs. Gladys Swanson, Ottumwa. Also, two brothers Tom Neighbour, Ottumwa, and Alf Neighbour, Williamson. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Swanson home, 106 East Manning avenue, and at 2 p.m. in the Kirkville Methodist church of which Mrs. Glenn was a member. The pastor, the Rev. Clifford Dewey, will be in charge and burial will be at Kirkville. Pallbearers will be Clyde Kirk, Cecil Hawk, Houston Abernathy, Oscar Schmitz, Walter Brown and Charles Fuhs. The casket was to be taken from Johnson’s chapel to the Swanson home today.
