Mrs. Ollie Burgess, 79, Ottumwa route 4, died at 2 a.m. today at the Rest Haven home, 829 Pershing avenue. She was the daughter of Elijah and Eliza Sample and was born March 29, 1865. She had been a resident of Wapello and Davis counties for 36 years. Survivors are six nieces and two nephews, Mrs. Maggie Wilson, Ottumwa; Miss Sadie McCune and Miss Letha McCune, both of Gravity; Mrs. Eva Larson, Ottumwa route 2, Mrs. Addie Barnett and Mrs. Frances Anderson, both of Blakesburg route 2, Fred McCune and Roy Sample Blakesburg route 2. The body is at Johnson funeral chapel. Services for Mrs. Ollie Burgess, Ottumwa route 4, who died Tuesday at the Rest Haven home, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Johnson’s chapel. The Rev. Ralph E. Oiler of the Open Bible church will conduct the services and burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
