Rose McCormick, 69, Dies Suddenly
Miss Rose McCormick, 69, Ottumwa abstractor, died suddenly Monday afternoon in her room at 322 East Fourth street. She was born in Webster county and came to Ottumwa in 1929, after holding the position of county recorder of Pocahontas county. She had been an employee of the Walter H. McElroy abstract office since coming to Ottumwa. She is survived by one brother, Tom, and one sister, Mrs. McMann, both of Rockwell City, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Altar and Rosary society. The body was taken from the Moroney funeral home at 11 a.m. today, to her home in Pocahontas county. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Burial will be in Gilmore City.
