Adam Steele, 80, died at 9 p.m. Thursday at the Wapello County hospital. Born in Monroe county, Ohio March 31, 1863, he had been a resident of Wapello county for the past 52 years. Surviving are six daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. Mabel Perdue, Des Moines, Mrs. Lena Schippers, Pleasantville; Mrs. Ethel Kvien, Gackle, North Dakota, Mrs. Mary McGuire, Ottumwa and Miss Flora Steele and Mrs. Nellie Williams, both of Los Angeles, California. Three sons are Ray of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Wayne of Blakesburg and Claude of Eldon. The body was taken to the Lester Jay funeral home to await completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Adam Steele, who died Thursday evening, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday from the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. U.S. Smith of Agency. Burial will be in the Agency cemetery.
