Mrs. Margaret Jean McDonough, 77, a resident of Ottumwa for the past 56 years, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday at her home, 1004 West Sherman street. She was born April 18, 1865 in Van Buren county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brown. She is survived by the following children; Harry McDonough, Cedar Rapids, Obie McDonough, Davenport; William McDonough, Des Moines, Dan McDonough, Dewey McDonough, Tim McDonough and Mrs. Hallie Brown, Mrs. Genevieve Steele, Mrs. Hazel Critchfield, Mrs. Gertrude Patkin and Mary Robinson, all of Ottumwa. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and by two brothers, Samuel Brown of Mt. Pleasant and Dan Brown of Eldon. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1923, and by two daughters. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken to the residence at 5 p.m. today and will be returned to the chapel at 11:30 Tuesday morning. The pallbearers will be Owen Fuqua, Jim Simpson, Lewis Gray, Roy Moffit, Charles Ward and Curtis West.
