Please Note: On the master list of Memorial Lawn’s burials, the interment dates for Mildred and her husband Charles are reversed. Mildred died August 25, 1960, and Charles died July 17, 1965.

Obituary From “Ottumwa Daily Courier,” Thursday, August 25, 1960, Page 9:

Mrs. Charles Langford

Mrs. Mildred F. Langford, 61, wife of Charles Langford of 314 Elmdale avenue, died at her home at 9 a.m. today after an illness of several months.

She was born in Ottumwa September 1, 1898, the daughter of George E. and Estella Stevens Styre, and had spent her entire life here.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three brothers, Edwin Styre of Phoeniz, Ariz., Dr. Benjamin F. Styre of South San Gabriel, Calif., and Robert Styre of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Fanny Moll of Independence, Iowa, and Mrs. Mae Reed of Bethesda, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son.

The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred F. Langford, 61, of 314 Elmdale avenue, who died at her home at 9 a.m. Thursday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson funeral chapel. Elder L.L. Dinwiddie, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Reed, Darrell Millard, Frank Erskine, Vahn Styre, Jon Styre and Gary Styre.
