Patrick Dugan, 82, Retired Grocer, Dies
Patrick Dugan, 82, a retired grocer died at 4 a.m. Sunday at his home, 730 East Main street. He conducted the Dugan grocery at Vine and Main street for 25 years until forced to retire about five years ago because of ill health. He was a member of General Shields No., 888, Knights of Columbus, and of the Holy Name Society of the Sacred Heart Catholic church. He is survived by one son, John Dugan of Ottumwa and by four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, at 8:30 from the Vaughan funeral chapel and at 9 o’clock from the Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. J.H. Courtney will be the celebrant of a requiem high mass and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Holy Name society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vaughan chapel to recite the rosary.
