L.E. Eslinger, 68, of 703 South Sheridan avenue died Thursday at 2 p.m. at his home. He was the son of George and Minerva Eslinger and was born in Wapello County May 8, 1875. He resided in Ottumwa and Wapello county his entire life. He was a painter by trade. Mr. Eslinger was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church. He is survived by his wife, Nan; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Johnson of Ottumwa and Mrs. Rilla Goodwin of Chillicothe; one brother Fred Eslinger of Ottumwa, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Irene Watson of Binghamton, New York, and Mrs. Charles Black of Ottumwa. The body is at the Johnson funeral home awaiting completion of arrangements.
Funeral services for L.E. Eslinger of 700 south Sheridan avenue, who died Thursday afternoon, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. F. E. Pietz of St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
