Resident of City For 89 Years Dies
Miss Margaret Sheehan, 81, of 107 South Ash street, died at 10:30 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital following an illness of 12 weeks. She came to Ottumwa, as an infant and had made her home in this city for the past 80 years. Miss Sheehan was the daughter of Timothy and Julia Sheehan and was born in Fairfield June 12, 1862. Surviving are a sister, Miss Julia Sheehan and a brother Timothy J. Sheehan, both of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. at the home and at Sacred Heart Catholic church at 9 a.m. where a requiem high mass will be sung by the Rev. J.H. Courtney. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Members of the Altar and Rosary society of the Sacred Heart parish will meet at the Sheehan home at 8 p.m. Monday to recite the rosary. The body will be removed to the home from the Vaughan funeral home at 5 p.m. Sunday.
