Mrs. Virginia E. Fountain, 54, wife of Fred J. Fountain of 1409 North Elm street, died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph hospital. The daughter of Samuel and Emily Trail, she was born October 9, 1889 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She had lived in Ottumwa the past six years. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Schnither, Devils Lake, North Dakota and Mrs. Margaret Wademan, Los Angeles, California, a son, Charles W. Roberts of the Navy; a sister Mrs. Lucille Porter and a brother, Wesley Trail, both of Nebraska City. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal church here. Short funeral services were held this morning at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Louis H. Matheus. The casket will be taken overland to Nebraska City, where burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.
