Mrs. A.J. Rogers, 79, lifelong resident of Wapello county, died at 11:45 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Dennis, 211 Grandview avenue, after an extended illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Hettie C. Rogers, 79, who died at 11:40 a.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Dennis of 211 Grandview avenue, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. H.A. Keck, D.D. will have charge of the services and burial will be in McCormick cemetery at Highland Center. Mrs. Rogers was the daughter of Wilson and Mary Harlan and was born May 9, 1864, in Wapello county, where she spent her entire life. She was a member of the First Methodist Church here. She is survived by the following daughters; Mrs. Dennis, Ottumwa, Mrs. Clarence Wolf, Belknap and Mrs. Walter Lowenberg, Batavia. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and by 12 great grandchildren. Her husband Andrew Rogers died in 1922.
