Well Known Local Women Are Dead
Mrs. Mary M. Hadden, 69, died at 10:45 Wednesday at her home, 129 East Court Street. She was born March 17, 1874 at Newburn, the daughter of Matthew and Nellie Ann Anderson and was married to George H. Hadden in Ottumwa September 24, 1896 and had lived here since that time. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Hadden Funk of Camden, New Jersey, and one son Dr. M.R. Hadden of Chicago. She is survived by four grandchildren and by the following brother and sisters; Ira Anderson and Mrs. Clyde Finarty, both of Knoxville; Mrs. Mildred (unable to read) Mrs. Lyman Minor, Grand Island, Nebraska. She was a member of the First Methodist church, Ottumwa chapter No.112, O.E.S. Wapello White Shrine No. 4 Women’s auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the Women’s auxiliary of the Burlington veteran’s association. The body will be at the Lester Jay, funeral home until funeral arrangements are completed.
Funeral services for Mrs. George R. Hadden, who died Wednesday night will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Lester Jay funeral home. Dr. Herbert A. Keck of the First Methodist church in charge. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
