Packwood Bank Head Found Dead At Home
E.A. Romack, 73, vice president of the bank here and a large landowner in this county, was found dead in his farm home, three miles northwest of Packwood, Monday afternoon. When Glen Bradfield, a neighbor went to the home and found it locked, he called Romack’s daughter, Mrs. Harry F. Pile, Ottumwa. She told Bradfield to break into the house. The attending physician was unable to say how long Romack had been dead. A coroner’s inquest was held Monday night and it was decided that death was due to natural causes, probably during his sleep Saturday or Sunday night. Besides Mrs. Pile, Romack is survived by a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Wyatt Shuck, Jesse and Allen Romack all of Sharpsville, Indiana. Romack had lived alone since the death of his wife, December 25, 1931. The body was removed to the Lester Jay funeral home, Ottumwa. The funeral will be held at the Methodist Church here with Rev. Lawrence and Mrs. Hight in charge. The day has not been set.
Funeral services for E.A. (EB) Romack of northeast of Packwood, who died Monday afternoon, were held at 3:30 p.m. today at the Packwood Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. and Mrs. Lawrence Hight. Burial was in Packwood cemetery.
