Mrs. Etta M. West, 33, wife of Gilbert West, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday at the family home 903 East Finley avenue. She was the daughter of Bradford and Goldie Roach and was born at old Rutledge, March 23, 1910. She had been a resident of Ottumwa and vicinity for approximately 24 years. Mrs. West was a member of the Open Bible church. She is survived by her husband, three sons and a daughter, Merle Ashmead, Donald Ashmead, Roy West and Delores West, all at home. Also, by her mother, Mrs. Goldie Gert of Davenport, a brother, Private First-Class James A. Roach, Camp White, Oregon, two sisters. Mrs. Pauline Meeker, Ottumwa and Mrs. Louise Meeker, Mountain View, California. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 :30 p.m. from Johnson’s funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. L.E. Welshons of the First Church of the Open Bible. Burial in Shaul cemetery.
