Mrs. Elnora Benson, 80, died at her home, 602 West Mechanic street at 8 p.m. Monday. She was the daughter of John and Jane Jones and was born March 8, 1862 in Illinois. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for 56 years. Mrs. Benson was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Frank Ware, Mrs. Margaret DeHart, Mrs. Daisy Williams and Mrs. Florence Mosher, all of Ottumwa; two sons, Bert A. Benson of Crocker, Missouri, and Charles E. Benson of Des Moines, a foster daughter of Mrs. Ethel Klinck of Davenport, 35 grandchildren and 30 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Benjamin in 1927, and two daughters and three sons. The casket will be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to the residence at 5 p.m. today to await completion of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Mrs. Elnora Benson, who died Monday evening at her home, 602 West Mechanic street, will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Catholic church. Msgr. J.M. Walsh V.F. Will be the celebrant of the requiem high mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pallbearers will be Floyd DeHart, Delbert Collins, Reuben Grimes, Jim and Bill Ware, and Vern Osborn.
