Mrs. Ada Starkey Dies This Afternoon
Mrs. Ada Starkey, 83, resident of Ottumwa for many years, died at 1:45 p.m. today at the home of her daughter Mrs. Carl Ketcham, 441 South Ransom street. She was born November 20, 1859, at Eddyville and was the wife of Phillip Starkey, retired Milwaukee railroad employee when he died in February 1941. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist church, Pythian Sisters lodge No. 196, the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen auxiliary and the Pioneer club of Maccabees. Besides Mrs. Ketcham, she is survived by a grandson, Max Ketcham and a son H.W. Starkey of Moline, Illinois. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. R.C. Keagy. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. The family requests no flowers.
