Stephen Buckner Dies Early Today
Stephen A. Buckner, 85, a lifelong resident of Wapello county died at 5:45 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital. He was born April 23, 1855, near Highland Center and lived on a farm until 1901 when he retired and moved to Ottumwa. He spent most of his retirement is California or Florida. He was a member of Ottumwa lodge No. 16 A.F. & A.M., the Odd Fellows lodge at Highland Center and the Eastern Star at Iowa City. On son, Chester Buckner of Fairfield survives him. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday from the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. Robert A. Keck D.D. pastor of the First Methodist church.
