Mrs. Rosie Ellen Lindsey, 54, wife of William Lindsey of 728 East Main street, died at noon Monday at St. Mary’s hospital in East St. Louis. She had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Anna L. Johnson, in East St. Louis. She was born May 21, 1889 at Moulton, the daughter of John and Nancy Lee Kerby, and had lived in Ottumwa for the past 33 years. She is survived by her husband and the following six children; Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Genevieve Connell, both of East St. Louis; Carl Lindsey, at home; Mrs. Ellen Holman, Mrs. Lucille Moffitt and Mrs. Machine Meeker, all of Ottumwa. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; David Kerby, Centerville; Ellsworth Kerby, Udell; Mrs. Lillie Smith, Marshalltown and Mrs. Edith Campbell, Ottumwa. The body will be taken to the Johnson funeral chapel where it will remain pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosie Ellen Lindsey of 728 E. Main street, who died Monday at St. Mary’s hospital in East St. Louis, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday from the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. Martin Leih will have charge of the services and burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
