Anna H. Simmer, 43, wife of Orville Simmer of Ottumwa route 1, died Sunday at 9 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant.
Born in Woodbury, Connecticut, November 6, 1899, she was the daughter of Alfred and Marie Carmen. The family came to Iowa in 1908 and she was married to Mr. Simmer on July 31, 1916, in Ottumwa. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Mrs. Simmer is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Smith and Mrs. Orvetia Laughlin of Ottumwa; two sons John at Langley Field, Virginia and Orville Jr. of Ottumwa, two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Yahn of Ottumwa and Mrs. Lena Lauderback of Chicago; three brothers, Sidney Carmen of Ottumwa, Fred Roehrs of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son. The body was taken to the Carroll Reece funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Simmers route 1, who died Sunday will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroll Reece funeral home, conducted by the Rev F. Edward Peitz of St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Burial will be in the McIntire cemetery, south of Ottumwa. Pallbearers will be Don Stewart, Al Dixon, Bud Fogle, John Hall, Noble Beeson and Jim Shepherd.
