Mrs. Alice Callahan, 70, of 713 West Fourth street, widow of Thomas Callahan died Sunday at 6:05 p.m. at the St. Joseph hospital. She was born April 21, 1873, came to Ottumwa in 1910 and had lived here ever since. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary society of St. Mary’s Catholic church. She is survived by five brothers, John Shea of Two Harbors, Minnesota, William Shea of Blacksburg, James Shea of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Jerry and Dan Shea of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be Wednesday at her home at 713 West Fourth street, at 8:30 a.m. and at St. Mary’s Catholic church at 9 a.m. Requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.M. Walsh V.F. Burial will be in the Calvary cemetery of Eddyville. Members of St. Mary’s church will meet at the Callahan home Tuesday at 8 p.m. to recite the rosary. The body will be removed from the Vaughan funeral chapel at 5 p.m. today and returned to the Callahan home.
