Death Comes To Joseph Redfern
Joseph S. Redfern, 79, Hedrick, died at the St. Joseph hospital here at 11:45 p.m. Thursday. He had been a resident of Wapello county practically all his life, moving to Hedrick four months ago. He was the son of Isaac and Susan Redfern and was born in Keokuk county, February 5, 1864. Survivors include his wife Amanda; a daughter, Mrs. Belle McKeever, Ottumwa route 7, a son, Earl Redfern, Eugene, Oregon; four grandchildren; a brother, William Redfern, Martinsburg, and a sister, Mrs. Almeda Sanchez, Martinsburg. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennie, in 1903.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Henry of the Hedrick Methodist church. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion cemetery near Martinsburg.
