L.E. (Lou) Dalton, 71, died at 4;30 a.m. Sunday at Ottumwa hospital where he was a medical patient. His home is on Blakesburg route 2. He was the son of Robert and Susan Dalton, and was born at Hedrick October 10, 1871. He had been a resident of Wapello county for 23 years. Surviving are his wife, Mabel; three sons, Robert L. Dalton at home, Donald Dalton Ottumwa and Irvin Dalton, Camp Cook, California; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon Smithart, Kirkville, and Martha and Marion Dalton, both at home, four grandchildren; his father of Rose Hill, and a sister, Mrs. James Abrams of Rose Hill. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle and three daughters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. John Blough. Burial will be in Brooks cemetery near Hedrick.
