William R. Bailey, 77, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant. He was born September 25, 1865, at Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Margaret Bailey and had been a resident of Wapello county for 49 years. His wife, Mrs. Myrtle Bailey, preceded him in death on January 29, 1930. The sons died in infancy. He is survived by two sons and one daughter, Mrs. Viola White, Clarence F. Bailey and Loren C. Bailey, all of Ottumwa and one brother, Jeol Bailey of Ottumwa, and by three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the Johnson funeral home in charge of the Rev. L.E. Welshons. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
