George W. Gilman, 67, Spanish American War veteran formerly of Ottumwa, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at his home in Council Bluffs. He was the son of A.J. and Phoebe Gilman and was born near Ottumwa. He lived her prior to going to Council Bluffs 19 years ago. He is survived by two brothers, Harvey Gilman of Ottumwa and C.E. Gilman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The casket was to arrive here late this afternoon and be taken to the Johnson funeral chapel where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Brooks cemetery and war veterans will serve as pallbearers.
