Mrs. Madge L. Markel, 54, died at 9 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital. She was born August 30, 1888, at Urbana, Iowa, the daughter of Edgar and Emma Gee. She is survived by her husband, Howard P. Markel, her mother, Mrs. Emma Gee of Cedar Rapids and one brother, Herbert Gee, of Des Moines. Mrs. Markel had been in Ottumwa only six weeks, coming here when her husband was assigned to the local Internal Revenue office. The body was taken from the Lester Jay funeral home this afternoon to Cedar Rapids for services and burial.
