Mrs. Kathryn Handlon, 70 years old and a resident of Ottumwa for more than 40 years, died suddenly at 5:45 p.m. Monday at her home 604 East Main street. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist church. Mrs. Handlon is survived by one son, Earl Handlon, a member of the Minneapolis Symphony orchestra in Minneapolis. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Marion Handlon and Maxine Handlon of Minneapolis, and by two brothers, Arthur Sterling and Robert Sterling of near Farson. She was born June 29, 1872, near Farson, the daughter of David and Margaret Sterling. Her husband, Edward Handlon, preceded her in death in 1916. The body is at the Johnson funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kathryn Handlon, 70, who died at her home 604 East Second street, Monday will be at the Johnson funeral chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. J.B. Johnson of the Wesley Methodist church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
