Marion D. Erb, 25, of 1308 Grant street, died at 4:05 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital after and illness of five weeks. He was the son of Albert and Mary Erb and was born November 16, 1917 in Ottumwa, where he had always lived. He was graduated from the Ottumwa high school in 1936 and had been employed by John Morrell & Co. since that time. He was a member of W.O.W. No. 31 and the local C.I.O. union. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Erb, one brother and two sisters; Mrs. Elsie Harrison Wever, Iowa; Mrs. Alma Meeker, Des Moines and George Erb, a seaman first class at the Ottumwa Naval aviation base. His father died August 9, 1942.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
