Charles Dickerson, 66, former Ottumwa railroader, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at Eau Claire, Wisconsin where he was making his home with his daughter, Mildred Nadine. He was born August 9, 1876, at Eddyville and entered the employ of the Milwaukee railroad July 26, 1902. He was promoted to conductor in 1909. He was member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. In addition to the daughter he is survived two sisters, Cora Dickerson of Ottumwa and Mrs. Nora Birchum of Washington D.C. and three brothers, Edward of Des Moines and John and William of Ottumwa. The body is to arrive in Ottumwa Tuesday night and will be taken to the Traul funeral chapel pending funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Charles Dickerson, 66, former Ottumwa and Milwaukee railroad veteran who died Saturday at Eau Claire, Wisconsin, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Traul funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. Harold Roberts. Milwaukee trainmen will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. The body arrives in Ottumwa at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday. In addition to survivors listed yesterday. Mr. Dickerson leaves two half-sisters, Mrs. Dave Lewis and Mrs. Ralph Decker of Ottumwa.
