Mrs. Mary Belle Thompson, 80, of 303 1/2 church street, died at Ottumwa hospital at 3:20 p.m. Sunday. The daughter of Perry and Mary Staton, she was born at Hill Town, April 6, 1862. Survivors include three sons, Arch and Francis Thompson, both of Ottumwa and William Thompson, Agency; four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Conroy, Mrs. H. Annis and Mrs. Glen Baker, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Ona Bowman, Knoxville; 31 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; two brothers W.M. Staton, Hill Town and Harry Staton, Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1922, and by a son and daughter. Short services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and at 1 p.m. the Hill Town Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Trenton Slaton, assisted by the Rev. Roscoe Morrison. Burial will be in Hill Town cemetery.
