Rites Today For Mrs. Crowe
Mrs. Anna Crowe, wife of the late Samuel Crowe, died at the Ottumwa hospital at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. She was more than 87 years old. Mrs. Crowe was born June 11, 1854, in Borthwick, Scotland, the daughter of William and Mary Gray. She came to the United States with her parents when 15 years old, and made her home at Hubbard Ohio. She became an American citizen. Mr. and Mrs. Crowe were married at Sharon, Pennsylvania, in 1873. Her husband and four children preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bane and Mrs. C.J. Connett of Ottumwa; three sons, Abe, Ottumwa, David of Albia and Samuel of Melcher, 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Crowe lived with her daughter, Mrs. Connett, North Court road. She was a member of the First Christian church, the oldest living member at the time of her death. Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. in the First Christian church, in charge of the Rev. Harold Roberts. Burial was in the Ottumwa cemetery.
