Albert Griffioen, 71, of 846 Richmond avenue, died at the Ottumwa hospital Monday at 10:40 a.m. He was the son of Johannes and Winifred Griffioen, born in Maarsbroke the Netherlands in 1870. He came to this country in 1904, settling at Pella. In 1910 he moved to Ottumwa and has lived here ever since. Mr. Griffioen was a member of the Christian Holland Reformed church of Pella. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Mary Miers, Mrs. Dora Meek, Mrs. Anna McDaniel and Mrs. Joanna Miller, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Winnie Ostrander of Batavia and Mrs. Nellie West of Venice, California; a son John of Los Angeles and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie in 1929, and by a daughter. Funeral services for Albert Griffioen, 846 Richmond avenue, who died at the Ottumwa hospital Monday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. C.R. Reed of the Willard Street Methodist church will be in charge. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Daniels, O.T. Miller, Fred McDaniel, Gay Anderson, Frank Beal and Lyle Mosher.
