Mrs. Lily May Black, 62, wife of Ben F. Black of 238 North Moore street, died at the Wapello county hospital at 1:10 a.m. Thursday. She was the daughter of Joseph and Lavina Walker, born near Blakesburg September 27, 1879. She lived in Wapello county and in Ottumwa for 17 years. Mrs. Black was a member of the Davis Street Christian church. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Lester, Archie and Wilbur of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Aletha Sayler of Des Moines and Mrs. Don Miller of Waterloo; her mother, Mrs. Lavina Walker of Near Blakesburg; three grandchildren; three brothers, Ernest and Emmett Walker of near Blakesburg and Ab Walker in Davis county, and three sisters, Mrs. Eva Johnston, Mrs. Millie Worrell and Mrs. Rosa Glosser of Blakesburg. Her father, one son and one brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. E.L. Frost of the Davis Street Christian church. Burial will be in the Hopewell cemetery.
