Native Of Wapello County Dies At 81
Mrs. Amon Arnold Lived Near Dudley, 60 Years
Mrs. Esther Jennie Arnold, 81, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Walter E. Gardner, in Eddyville at 2:20 a.m. today. She was the daughter of John and Catherine Blackman, born in Chillicothe January 17, 1861. She lived all her life in this county, over 60 years of it near Dudley. She had made her home with her daughter for the past year and a half. Surviving, in addition to her daughter, are five sons, Paul and Richard of Dudley. Herbert of Blakesburg and Dewey and Arthur of Albia. A sister, Leota Blackman, Humeston, and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Her husband, Amon preceded her in death October 20, 1935. Two daughters also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Columbia church with burial in the Columbia cemetery. The body will be taken from Johnson's funeral chapel to the Gardner residence in Eddyville Saturday afternoon.
