Mrs. Sarah R. DaVolt, 83, died at the home of her son, Claude W. DaVolt, 717 South Sheridan avenue, at 11:15 p.m. Monday. She was born in Franklin county, Indiana, May 29, 1858. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for 16 years. Surviving are three sons, Thomas, Claude and Louis, all of Ottumwa and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Frank Searcy of Clinton, Missouri also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth Thomas DaVolt, in 1928 and by two sons and a daughter. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting the completion of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah R. DaVolt who died at the home of her son Claude W. DaVolt, 717 South Sheridan avenue, Monday, will be held Thursday at 1:20 p.m. from the son's residence, and at 2 p.m. from the Pentecostal church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken to the residence from the Johnson funeral chapel this afternoon. Pallbearers will be Carl Renfrew, Lonnie Long, Tom Long, Ross Keeler, Arnold Stauk and Phillip Windle.
