Zirl, M. Mullen, 40, former Ottumwan, above died at his home in Davenport Saturday after an extended illness. He was born April 16, 1901 in Ottumwa, educated in this city, and served an apprenticeship at the Ottumwa Iron Works. He went to Davenport in 1931, and was employed at the Blackhawk Foundry for eight years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Foundrymen's association. Surviving are his wife, Florence Carlson Mullen; three daughters, Beverly, Delores and Patricia; his mother Mrs. Zella Mullen of Ottumwa, a brother Zazil in Muskogee, Oklahoma and two sisters, Mrs. Zida Whitzel in Ottumwa and Mrs. Ted Johnson, Rock Island. Funeral services were held at Davenport today and further services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ, corner of Finley avenue and Adelia streets in Ottumwa, conducted by Burley Black. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery. The body will arrive tonight at the Johnson funeral chapel and will remain there until the hour of services.
