Aged Local Woman Dies After Fall
Mrs. Marie McMichael An Ottumwan 70 Years.
Mrs. Mary M. McMichael, 86, of 205 West Fourth street, died at the Ottumwa hospital at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday as result of injuries sustained in a fall at her home Monday. She was born February 14, 1856, in Ohio, the daughter of William and Lavina Shaeffer. She had lived in Ottumwa 70 years. She married Parker McMichael here April 19, 1878. He preceded her in death in 1926. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bess Kendall of Durate, California and Orrell McMichael of Ottumwa, and a son Clarence of Lawrenceville, Illinois, a brother, John Shaeffer of Salt Lake City and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three sons preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the home, 205 West Fourth street, in charge of the Rev. Richard Paul Graebel, D.D. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. The body was taken to the residence from the Lester Jay funeral home Wednesday evening.
