Dallas Wilson Simmons, 78, of 116 North Davis street, died at his home at 2:15 p.m. Friday. He was the son of Michael and Marie Anna Wertz born in Lehigh county, Pennsylvania, January 5, 1864. He had lived in Ottumwa 16 years. Surviving are a son, James of Ottumwa, three grandchildren, James Jr., Thelma, and Darlene of Ottumwa. His wife preceded him in death in 1891. A son William also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Pentecostal church with the Rev. A.D. McClure in charge. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to the church at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers will be L. Gates, Edwin Gates, E.M. Ross, Lawn Collet, Ike Gates and Raymond Howell.
