Mrs. Emma S. Stump, 66, wife of Elmer O. Stump, 214 North Ransom street, died at her home Thursday at 4 p.m. She was the daughter of Lemuel S. and Rebecca Carl, and was born February 2, 1875, near Libertyville. She had been a resident of this community for the past 31 years. She was married to Elmer O. Stump, March 5, 1896 at What Cheer. She had been a member of the Methodist church all her life. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Orin Cobler, Ottumwa, two sons Floyd Stump, Ottumwa and Harold of Douds, three brothers , C.L. Carl, Des Moines, G.H. Carl, Birmingham and E.C. Carl, Agency, and by six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children and by one granddaughter, Helen Cobler. Short services will be held from the home at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, and at 2 p.m. from the Mt. Moriah church near Douds. the Rev. C.R. Reed of the Willard Street Methodist church will be in charge. Burial will be in the Mt. Moriah cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The casket will be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel t the home this morning.
