Mrs. William Oldham Dies At Age Of 84
Mrs. Alice Thompson Oldham, 74, widow of William Oldham died at the Ottumwa hospital at 2 a.m. Saturday. Her home was at 640 East Second street. Mrs. Oldham was born in Kirkville March 5, 1867. She was the daughter of Alexander and Mary Ann Thompson. She was married to William Oldham March 1, 1888, in Ottumwa. She was a member of the first Presbyterian church and of the Burlington Veterans' auxillary. Surviving are the daughters, Mrs. Bernice Simmons and Mrs. Vera Moore, of Ottumwa, two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Olds of Reno and Mrs. Jeanette Paris of Susanville, California, one brother C.H. Thompson, Chicago, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her husband preceded her in death, March 8, 1940. One son Glen, also preceded her in death July 25, 1941. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Carroll Reece funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Grachel, D.D. in charge. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. the body will remain at the funeral home.
