William H. Cornell, 60, Ottumwa route 6, died in an Iowa City hospital Thursday at 5:30 p.m. the son of Thomas and Martha Cornell, he was born in Chillicothe, Missouri, April 11, 1861. He had been a resident of this community for seven years, and previously lived in Des Moines. He was a member of the University Christian church of Des Moines, and also of Glenwood camp No. 140 M.W.A. Mr. Connell had been a salesman for flour and feed concerns for 25 years, travelling all over the state of Iowa. For the last seven years he had been employed by a Forest Park, Illinois feed company. Surviving are his wife, Anna; a son Floyd W. Cornell Orange county California; a daughter Mrs. J.W. Stufflebeam, Bloomfield; three sisters, Mrs. L.O. Pepper, Ottumwa; Mrs. S.C. Lane, Long Beach California and Mrs. Earl Paxson Sioux Falls S.D. two brothers Charles A. and Frank C. Cornell both of Ottumwa and two grandchildren. Funeral services for William H. Cornell, Ottumwa route 6, who died in the University hospital at Iowa City at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel Monday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Donald McKay of the Christian church of Chariton in charge. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be Howard Williams, Herbert Williams, Virgil Traburt, Earl Russell, Van Peeveler, Earl Hoover.
