Resident Of City For 57 Years Dies
Perry Lewis Amiss, 88, a resident of Ottumwa for 57 years, died at 11:20 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cal Brown, 180 North Ransom street. The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Amiss he was born August 5, 1852. Surviving are Mrs. Brown, two sons, Lewis and Merritt, of Ottumwa; a grandson Keith Amiss of Ottumwa and a brother, A.J. Amiss of Altoona. Funeral services for Perry Lewis Amiss, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cal Brown, Wednesday, will be held in the Johnson funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers are to be Sam Russell, Charles, Wilson, Joe R. Genocio, H.J. Willison, Roy Higdon and Robert Boulger.
