Mrs. Bertha B. Hickman, 56, wife of John H. Hickman died at her home 525 South Webster street, today at 1:30 a.m. She was the daughter of Scott and Catherine Hough and was born near Blakesburg July 31, 1884. She had lived in Ottumwa for the last 32 years. Mrs. Hickman was a member of the Davis Street Christian church. Surviving are her husband; son, Elbert K. Hickman of Chicago; grandson Kenneth Elbert Hickman of Chicago; brothers , Charles Hough of Albia and Hiram Hough of California. She was preceded in death by three sisters. Services for Mrs. Bertha B. Hickman wife of John H. Hickman who died at her home, 525 South Webster street, Wednesday, will be held in the home Friday at 2 p.m. and in Davis Street Christian church at 2:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. E.L. Frost, pastor. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The body will remain at Johnson's funeral chapel until Friday at 9:30 a.m. when it will be taken to the home.
