James. H. (Pete) Sibert, 34-year-old Ottumwa jeweler, died Sunday at 4 p.m. at Ottumwa hospital after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Sibert had not worked at his store, 205 East Main street, for the last six weeks. He came to Ottumwa four years ago after a number of years in the jewelry business with his father at Waverly and Waterloo. He was born June 25, 1906, in Humboldt and was graduated from West Waterloo high school. He was married to Miss Jean Anne Miller of Waterloo January 24, 1926. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. George E. Sibert, who operated stores at Reinbeck and Waterloo. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Colleen Ann and sister, Miss Mabel Sibert of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1938, his father in 1931, and a daughter. Services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the home, 519 North Green street, and at the French funeral home in Reinbeck, 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Reinbeck. The body is at the home.
