W.H. Craft Dies After Day Illness
William Henry Craft, 51 Ottumwa route 4 on Minneopa street, died at Ottumwa hospital Friday at 9:15 p.m. He had been ill just one day.
Mr. Craft was born in Hedrick May 3, 1889, the son of Stanley and Alice Craft. He had lived in Ottumwa for the last 45 years, 20 of which had been spent in the employ of the Hardscog Manufacturing Co. Surviving are his wife, Opal; sons, Clayton H., Lyle E., Vernon E. and Donald W. all at home; sisters Mrs. L.R. Thomas of Creswell, Oregon, Mrs. T.E. Bigham and Mrs. F.D Burkhalter of Ottumwa and Mrs. F.U. Loomis of Klamatha Falls Oregon, brothers Dr. Stanley Craft of Ottumwa Dr. Carlyle, Earl and Jim Craft of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by a brother Elery. Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Johnson's funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Harold Lancaster D.D. pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rollie DeGoode, Oscar Miers, Paul Walker, Edward Farnsworth, Kenneth DeGoode and Lyle Allen.
The body will be taken to the home Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and returned to the chapel at noon.
