Resident of City For 72 Years
Mrs. Mathilda Peterson 92, an Ottumwa resident for the last 72 years died at her home, 604 Spring street, today at noon. Mrs. Peterson was the daughter of Andrew and Anna Tell and was born in Smoland Sweden, February 26, 1848. She came to the United States when she was 18 years of age, July 4, 1866 and settled in Munterville, Iowa with her parents. She was a member of the First Lutheran church and a life member of the Missionary society of the church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Eva Hyde of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank; a daughter, and three sons. The body is at Johnson's funeral chapel.Photo in obit

Services for Mrs. Mathilda Peterson who died at her home, 604 Spring street, Wednesday, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Malvin H. Lundeen. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. The casket will be taken from Johnson's funeral chapel Friday at 1 a.m. to the church. Pallbearers will be Emil Ask, Anton Carlson, Henry Seaberg, Oscar Green, Carl E. Erland and Axel O. Ask
