Mrs. Mary A. Arnold, 76 year old lifetime resident of Wapello county, died at her home near Dudley. Mrs. Arnold was the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Soots and was born in Wapello county September 13, 1864. She was married to John Arnold, January 25, 1886. He died August 11, 1929. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Maude Goltry of near Dudley; Golda Middleton, who had made her home with Mrs. Arnold for several years: sister, Mrs. G. P. Stevens of Bussey, and brother William Soots of Ottumwa. Short service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Arnold home and at 2:30 p.m. in th Columbia church, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Hight and Mrs. Hight, Chillicothe Methodist Church. Burial will be in Chillicothe cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
