Local friends received word of the death of John C. Larmore, 81, former Fairfield resident and former student at Parsons College.
Larmore died Jan. 3 in Glendale, Calif. He had been a resident of the Glendale area for 35 years. He was born in Wapello County.
During his junior year at Parsons, he enlisted in Unit R and served in France during World War I. He was a graduate of Columbia University and served as professor of English at Denison University, Granville, Ohio.
His wife, the former Dorothy Talley of Fairfield, died in 1960. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers.
