Patrick A. Coughlin 64 of 217 N. James was dead on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital today at 2:a.m. Death was due to a heart attack.

He was born May 9, 1908 at Ottumwa to Patrick and Mary Tierney Coughlin. He had lived in Ottumwa all his life. He retired from John Morrell & Company in 1959. He was a member of St. Patrick church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 114.

He married Mary Orman on Aug. 29, 1929 in Ottumwa. She survives. Also surviving are one son William of Ottumwa; two daughters Mrs. Beverly Scully of Hanover Park, Illinois, and Mrs. Carolyn Roberts of Anaheim, California; two sisters Mrs. Anna Smith of Rainbeck and Mrs. Nora Genachio of Ottumwa and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
