Body of Former Kirksville Man To Be Sent Here For Burial
Word of the death of W. L. Burnett, 61 years old, a former resident of Kirksville, at his home in Ottumwa, Ia., at 7 o'clock this morning, was received here today. The body will be brought to Kirksville Monday, following funeral services in Ottumwa, and will be taken directly from the 11:25 o'clock train to Llewellyn cemetery for interment. Mr. Burnett was a step-brother of A.H. Eades, of this city. Mr. Eades is in Ottumwa and will accompany the body here.
Mr. Brunett [sic] left Kirksville about 20 years ago, but had visited here at various times since, the most recent occasion being May 30. He had been in failing health for several months. Heart trouble was the cause of his death.
Mr. Burnett is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grover Findlay, of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Ed Goehring, who lives in Wyoming. His wife also survives him. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and of the Woodmen lodge. He spent many years doing carpenter work.
Mr. Burnett was well known to many Kirksville people who regret to hear of his death and join in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

------------Wm. L. Burnett, Former Resident Dies
Wm. L. Burnett, aged 61, died Saturday, August 26, at his home in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was a former resident of Kirksville, and had visited here several times, the last time being May 30. He was a carpenter by trade, and was well known here. He was a step-brother of A. H. Eades, of this city, and left this city about twenty years ago. Death was due to heart trouble.
The funeral services were held in Ottumwa, Monday, and the body was brought here for burial in the Lewellyn [sic] cemetery. Mr. Burnett was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the Modern Woodmen lodge.
